Tracy Wright is a Certified Management Accountant with nineteen years experience in Financial and Cost Accounting .
Tracy holds a Business Administration diploma, from Okanagan College where she majored in Accounting ‘with distinction’.
Tracy’s accounting career began in the transport truck manufacturing industry, where she performed numerous cost accounting functions as well as analysis and forecasting of profit margins. As Pricing Manager, she was responsible for ensuring accuracy in option prices, as well as continued profit realization for the company.
After 5 years in the trucking sector, Tracy moved her accounting skills to Kelowna’s wine industry; as Cost Accounting Manager for one of Canada’s largest producers and distributors of craft beers, premium wines and spirits: with annual sales of approximately $40.0 million. Her responsibilities included all areas of cost accounting, analysis of plant financial statements, inventory management assistance and contract packaging. She worked closely with the production team to determine the standard costs of all products, and spearheaded the company’s annual production budgets.
Eleven years later Tracy decided to launch an independent accounting consultancy to meet the needs of the growing business community in Kelowna and the Okanagan Valley.
Since 2007 ‘Wright Way Accounting’ has provided professional accounting support to existing local business, and affordable accounting set-up to many new ventures.
At present, Wright Way Accounting is the only accounting firm offering freelance cost accounting in the Okanagan Valley. Tracy firmly believes that all businesses can benefit from some form of cost accounting.
Tracy is passionate about involving her clients in the accounting process through basic education and hands-on help. Her goal is to make accounting procedures a little more understandable and a lot more enjoyable for her clients!
Tracy is a member of Kelowna Women in Business, the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce and the Okanagan Valley Entrepreneur’s Society.
Tracy also volunteers as Treasurer for her synchronized skating team ‘Skate of Mind’.
